The bite of a female Aedes mosquito transmits the dengue virus. Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that has rapidly spread to almost all regions in recent years. Dengue is associated with high-grade fever, severe eye pain, nausea or vomiting, rash, joint pains, and headache. As the human gets infected by the dengue virus, the body's immune system starts fighting against the infection by making antibodies against the virus. The antibodies become detectable within 4 to 5 Days. The dengue IgM and IgG test is used qualitatively or quantitatively to recognize dengue virus IgM and IgG antibodies. The bite of a female Aedes mosquito transmits the dengue virus. A doctor may recommend this Test in the following.
IgM and IgG antibodies can be detected in both Serum and Cerebrospinal fluid, whereas some can be performed on whole blood and plasma. In cases of primary dengue infection, IgM is identified on Days 3 to 5 of sickness and lasts for 2 to 3 months, whereas IgG appears by the fourteenth day and lasts a lifetime. According to secondary infection, IgG levels rise in conjunction with IgM antibodies within 1 to 2 Days of the onset of symptoms.IgM and IgG antibodies can be detected in both Serum and Cerebrospinal fluid, whereas some can be performed on whole blood and plasma.
