What is a diabetes supra panel Test?

What are the components of a supra panel diabetes test?

Following are the components of the supra panel diabetes test

Fasting blood sugar

- It is a standard annual physical examination to monitor blood glucose when a person has had a previous high blood glucose level, symptoms of diabetes, a family history of diabetes, or risk factors for diabetes.

HbA1c

– HbA1c is a gold standard for screening diabetes. Glycohemoglobin test (HbA1c), which measures glucose that sticks to hemoglobin.

Uric acid

-.When the body breaks down purines, uric acid is produced as waste. The body then excretes it through urine and feces. A uric acid test can be performed to determine how much uric acid is present in blood or urine.

Cholesterol

- A cholesterol test can help identify the likelihood that fatty deposits (plaques) will accumulate in the arteries, resulting in blocked or restricted arteries throughout your body (atherosclerosis). The various test included are HDL, LDL, and Triglycerides.

Microalbumin

-. This test is performed on individuals at risk of developing renal disease to find early indications of kidney impairment. When the kidneys function properly, they remove waste from the blood while retaining the beneficial elements, such as albumin-containing proteins.

Urine routine examination

- A urine test is known as a urinalysis. It identifies various illnesses, including diabetes, renal disease, and urogenital infections.

What is the standard reference range for the supra panel diabetes test?

HbA1C:

  • An A1C below 5.7% - Normal,
  • Between- 5.7 and 6.4% - Prediabetes
  • 6.5% or higher - Diabetes.

Fasting blood sugar test

FBS measures your blood sugar after an overnight fast (not eating).

  • 99 mg/dl or lower -Normal
  • 100 to 125 mg/dL -Prediabetes
  • 126 mg/dL or higher - Diabetes.

Uric acid

Normal values range between 3.5 to 7.2 milligrams per deciliter(mg/dL).

Blood Cholestrol

Normal: Less than 200 mg/dL.

Borderline high: 200 to 239 mg/dL.
