Glucose random tests are used by doctors to check the blood sugar levels in a person’s body at any time. These tests are crucial during the diagnosis process of diabetes, prediabetes, or gestational diabetes. Unlike fasting blood sugar tests, the random sugar test doesn’t require fasting or any other special prerequisites to be followed by patients. The glucose random test is performed as a general blood test with a blood sample drawn from the veins in the patient's forearm. The sample is then sent to the laboratory for testing. There are no special prerequisites patients need to follow for undergoing a random sugar test.
